1 Cor. 11:23-32 23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 32 When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
There are two ordinances of the church:
- Water Baptism 1st Death to our flesh(natural)
2nd. Alive in Christ (spiritual)
-Communion- 1st a picture of our oneness to the body of Christ.
2nd our oneness with Christ Himself.
The tabernacle (picture) in the wilderness was a type of the temple (picture)
1. Submission to authority- Vs. 24 “… do this in remembrance of me”

Our level of unity depends upon our level of humility and our level of humility will determine the power and presence of God in our midst.
Paul later in 1Cor. 11:33 says when you come together to eat wait for each other.
3. Servitude – Vs. 23-25 Jesus took the bread and He took the cup. Jesus took the lead in serving his disciples here at this last supper.
Matt. 20:27 -28 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
THE WHY BEHIND THE WHAT
The programs we have changed we believe will allow us to more effectively help people on the journey of discipleship as well as being better stewards of time and finances. The programs we are launching are making a difference in people’s lives.
Esthetically, it's about making our environment one where guests can feel welcome, and we are proud to invite people into.

FaceBook had zero users in 2000, but 750 million in 2010,
Wikipedia had no articles in 2000, but 19 million in 2010
Active blogs went from 12,000 to141 million in10 yrs,
tweets from zero to 25 billion
iTunes downloads from zero to10 billion. Daily emails have grown from 12 billion in 2000 to 247 billion in 2010, and text messages from 400,000 to 4.5 billion. And over 2.2 billion people are online.
“Almost no one is ready for the amount of change that lies ahead. But, the younger generation is going to make changes much more rapidly than we, for they have been conditioned to change.”
• They had to carry on the message and work of Jesus without Jesus being physically present.
• They had to learn what it meant to be filled with the Spirit.
• The original group of 120 had to learn how to incorporate 3,000 new believers in a single day (a challenge for anychurch!).
• They had to add a new layer of governance (deacons) to assist in keeping the church healthy.
• They had to learn how to adapt to suffering and martyrdom.
• They had to flex and adapt to the inclusion of Gentiles.
• They had to recognize new leaders such as Paul and Barnabas who expanded the church geographically and culturally.
These were no small changes. Four things I’ve learned about change.
First, change is not easy.
