Text: Psalm 24

-This psalm is preparatory for the presence of God
2 Sam. 6 - The ark was returning!

In order to usher in the presence of God to our community, our culture, and our very own lives, several areas we must address:

1)We must address our identity:
We must be certain where we find our identity

A)The mark of a generation
vs.1-2
2 Questions
1)Who can ascend the hill of the Lord?
2)Who can stand in His holy place?

What IS the mark of the generation?
Verse 6, "...those who seek Him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob."

David understood this important principle: It's not about how good we are at being holy and righteous and pure; it's all about how we seek the face of God.

B)Identity of a generation
If the identity of this generation is going to be that we seek the face of God, the mark of this generation has to be the God that we seek!

My identity must be in Jesus Christ!
What scripture says about you:
Lam. 3:58, "You Lord took up my case, You redeemed my life."
1 Cor. 6:20, "You were bought at a price..."
Gal. 3:13, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law..."
Rom. 5:8, "While we were still sinners Christ died for us."

You are clearly a son, and not an orphan!

2)We must accept the blessing!
Vs. 5, "They will receive a blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their savior."

Blessing: Blessing, prosperity, blessed, present, liberal
Vindication: Justice, righteousness, justification
