Jesus died as our SUBSTITUTE.  v. 9

There are two elements to the death of Christ.

First - Jesus satisfied the DEMAND of God. Heb 9:22

Second - Jesus absorbed the WRATH of God .Vs. 9

1. Your First Step Must Be FAITH

Faith produces FREEDOM - Gal. 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by the yoke of slavery.”

FREEDOM produces action - Gal. 5:6, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”

2. Your Second Step Must Be COMMITMENT

Placing your faith in Christ requires commitment

Commitment must be AUTHENTIC

Authentic = not false or COPIED; genuine; real

Don’t be a half-hearted Christian. A person with half a heart is called a CORPSE.

“If Christianity is worth anything at all, it will demand all.” - Jeanne Mayo

3) Your Third Step Must Be OBEDIENCE

Evaluate Your Motive

Are you obedient to EARN salvation, or b/c of it? Remember the story of the slave girl…

Build your relationship with the Father

Your QUIET – TIME is so important. Try 10/10. 10/10 stands for 10 minutes in prayer & 10 minutes in the Word!

Without relationship, trying to obey God will…

… WARP your view of God.

... harden your heart.

Remember—rules without relationship leads to rebellion!!!

What you sow into your life is then produced THROUGH your life—Gal. 6:7

Obedience is a DAILY thing

Gal. 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ…”

Life isn’t one big choice to do the right thing. It’s a series of choices one after another after another!!!!

4) Following These Three Steps Will Produce FRUIT In My Life

Two kinds of fruit can be in your life. Fruit of sin. Fruit of the Spirit.

The best way to evaluate your walk is to evaluate the fruit (the works) of your life!!!

Matthew 25:14-19 

    "Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. [15] To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. [16] The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more.

    [17] So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. [18] But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money. 

    [19] "After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 

Veteran’s Day:

Honors all people who honorably served their nation in the military

We are Stewards of America’s Freedom:

• Stewardship is “the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care.”  (Webster)
  
• Everything we have belongs to God--including freedom

Stewardship Requires Sacrifice:

• Moses “chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.”
  
• Veterans sacrificed everything for the good of others
  
• November is Military Family Month
  
• Military family members sacrifice, also

Stewardship Requires Accountability:

• God expects us to act ethically and wisely with our freedom
  
• We honor our veterans by living upright before God

Be Faithful Stewards:

• Keep our veterans and their families in prayer
  
• Thank a veteran for their sacrificial service
  
• Live as a God-honoring citizen
