A. The Corinthian Church was a DIVIDED Church.

The church should never have CLASS lines or RACIAL lines WITHIN the body.

B. The Corinthian Church was to turn JUDGMENT into a time of CELEBRATION.

1. We must rightly judge the bread and cup to be the EMBLEMS that REPRESENT the body and blood of Jesus.

2. We must rightly judge the body of Christ to be the LOCAL CHURCH.

3. We must rightly judge the bread and cup to be other brothers and sisters OUTSIDE this CHURCH.

4. We must rightly judge the bread and cup to represent those who have GONE on BEFORE us in the LORD.

Luke 10: 17-24

I. KNOWING JESUS IS HUMANITY’S PRIORITY:

• “And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.” (John 17:3)
• “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ....” (II Peter 3:18a)
• “We have received all of this by coming to know him...” (II Peter 1:3)

II. KNOWING JESUS GIVES US AUTHORITY:

• “Those He calls, He equips.”
• “...but the people who know their God will display strength and take action.” (Daniel 11:32b, NASB)
• “...overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” (Rom. 8:37b, NASB)
• Young David defeated the “scorpion” Goliath, in the name of the Lord Almighty. (I Samuel 17:45)

III. KNOWING JESUS OPENS THE TREASURES OF HEAVEN:

• Jesus focused their attention on the most wonderful miracle of all: their salvation!
• “Revelation” is making something known that was previously unknown.
• What filled Jesus with joy? (v.21-22)
o God revealed the power/authority that is in the name of Jesus to His “little ones.”
• “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses...” (Acts 1:8a)

IV. KNOWING JESUS MOTIVATES US:

• Eph. 4:11, 12: Jesus gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. The purpose:
o “--to prepare God's people for works of service…”
• The harvest is great but the laborers are few. (Matt. 9:37)

04-06-08 AM - The Necessity of the Resurrection

Here is the link for the audio of this file: The Necessity of the Resurrection

(Right click and select save as source to save to your hard drive.)

Three Reasons Jesus’ resurrection was necessary:

1.TO FULFILL SCRIPTURE.
- Jesus promised in Scripture that after He gave His life in sacrifice, He would rise again from the dead.
Luke 24:44-46

2.TO FORGIVE OUR SINS AND MAKE US RIGHT WITH GOD.
1 Corinthians 15:16-17 Romans 4:25 Romans 8:34

3.TO GIVE US HOPE FOR THE FUTURE.
- In Christ we have no fear of death, because death is simply a transition into eternal life.
– 1 Corinthians 15:16-20 John 11:25-27
Luke 24:44-46
