PRINCIPLES OF A DISCIPLINED LIFE

I. RAISE YOUR STANDARD HIGH. (Prov. 18:15)

“Increasingly, America is Biblically illiterate”, George Barna

Proverbs 19:8, “To acquire wisdom is to love oneself; people who cherish understanding will prosper.”

II. ACCEPT DELAYED GRATIFICATION (Prov. 13:12) (Hebrews 12:11)

III. FOCUS ON YOUR HEART, MIND, & ACTIONS.
(Proverbs 2:9-11) (MSG Romans 12:2) (Hebrews 12:11)

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
– Romans 12:2 (The Message)

ASK: “AM I WITHHOLDING FROM THOSE WHOM IT IS IN MY POWER TO HELP?”

“HAVE I BEEN STINGY AND LACKING IN GENEROSITY?”

IV. DECIDE TO DO THIS RIGHT NOW.

Paul said, “I press toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14)
