The Church God Intended...In God's Peace1. THE ATTITUDE FOR PEACE
HUMILITY
This word literally means to have a lowliness of mind. Philippians 2:3-4
GENTLENESS
This is not a quality of weakness, but of power under control. James 1:19-20
PATIENCE
Literally, this means to have a long temper in contrast to a short-fused temper. “Longsuffering”
BEARING WITH ONE ANOTHER IN LOVE
This phrase is similar to our phrase “put up with.”
MAKING EVERY EFFORT
A word which means "to exert one's self, endeavor, give diligence."
The oneness of the body of Christ is created by the Holy Spirit; it is preserved by the members of that body.
2. THE BASIS FOR PEACE Ephesians 4:4-6 (NIV)
In other words, the attitude for peace tells us how we should act, while the basis for peace tells us why.
- WE ARE ONE BODY When one gains we all gain”.
- WE HAVE ONE SPIRIT
- WE SHARE ONE HOPE OF OUR CALLING
- WE HAVE ONE LORD
- WE HAVE ONE FAITH
- WE HAVE ONE BAPTISM
- WE HAVE ONE GOD AND FATHER
