Compromise doesn’t always reject TRUTH; It simply allows FALSEHOOD.

WARNING SIGNS

A. Stating Jesus is anything less than GOD.

B. Denying the TRINITY.

C. Attempts to BLEND religions.

D. Down-playing the importance of following ONLY Jesus as Lord.

INSTRUCTIONS TO PERGAMUM

1. REMEMBER who it is you follow. (verse 12).

2. REMAIN faithful under pressure. (verse 13).
* Temples of Athena, Caesar Augustus Hadrian, Alter to ZEUS
* Temple of Dionysius (Bacchus) - GOAT / MAN.
* Temple of Asklepios - SERPENT.

3. REJECT those who reject me. (verse 14-15). John 14:6

4. REPENT of total tolerance. (verse 16). Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17b John 1:1

5. RECEIVE your reward. (verse 17) John 6:32-33

The choice is yours today.

Do you tolerate sin?

Is it so common place that it doesn’t bother you?

The church knew they could face suffering, poverty, slander, fear, PRISON, or DEATH.

III. Faith’s REWARD gives us HOPE.

Three promises:
A. A CROWN on our heads.
B. An ETERNITY to enjoy.
C. A PURPOSE to fulfill.
