Question #1: GOD’S GOODNESS – WHAT IS IT?

For us, goodness is an added quality, but it comes naturally for Him.

Question #2: GOD’S GOODNESS – WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

1) Through Creation – Psalms 145:3-17
2) Through Personal Involvement – Psalms 107:1-2
3) Through Jesus – Colossians 1:15 – Colossians 1:19

• Jesus took the judgment we deserve upon Himself. – Romans 5:8
• Jesus makes a way for God to bless us in extravagant ways. – Romans 8:32
• Jesus releases God’s goodness toward us in new ways. – 2 Corinthians 1:20a (NIV)
  

Question #3: GOD’S GOODNESS – WHAT DO WE DO IN RESPONSE?

1. Repent of unbelief and ingratitude.
2. To often we want the gifts, not the Giver.
3. We look for His hand not His heart.
4. Rest in God’s goodness when adversity comes.
5. Risk stepping out in faith like never before.

You never miss out if you step out with God.

1. WHAT are God’s promises?

• God promises the HOLY SPIRIT to people who have put their FAITH in Christ. Ephesians 1:13-14
• Another promise from God is an abundant life that will NEVER END. 1 John 2:25 1 John 5:11-12
• Our Heavenly Father also promises us spiritual REST. Hebrews 4:1a
• Other specific promises. James 2:5
  

2. WHY are God’s Promises True?

• God is TRUTHFUL Titus 1:2
• God is TRUSTWORTHY Hebrews 10:23
  

3. HOW do we RECEIVE God’s promises?

• PRAYERFUL Study of Scripture
• PATIENTLY Waiting Hebrews 6:15
• OBEDIENCE to God's Will

Prayer and a concentration on the word to the point of wanting to live it out.

So it can be said of us here that we don’t need information as much as we need implementation.

1. COMMITMENT TO THE WORD

He wasn’t a convenient Christian But rather he was a committed Christian.

It’s not what we want to do it is what should we do.

2. CHALLENGES OF THE WORD

Notice that God says in verse 11 that is is not asking for something impossible. “what I am commanding you today is not too difficult”.

Truth is always right, feelings are not.

Revival is always connected to a fresh passion for Gods Word.

•STEP #1 – SEE GOD'S LOVE IN ACTION

1)God showed how much he loved us by sending his ONLY SON into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. – 1 John 4:9

2)This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and SENT his Son as A SACRIFICE to take away our sins. – 1 John 4:10

3)Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the SAVIOR of the world. – 1 John 4:14
•Jesus could only be our SAVIOR if He was first our ATONING sacrifice.

•STEP #2 – ACCEPT GOD'S LOVE FOR YOUVss. 7, 8. 9, 10, 11, 12, 16

•STEP #3 – MAKE GOD'S LOVE YOUR LOVE

• Agape loves even when love is not DESERVED.
• Agape loves without RESTRICTIONS
• It reaches out to meet the need wherever a need arises.
• Agape loves by CHOICE and by WILL, not just by feeling and emotion
• It is the only kind of love that can be commanded.
• Agape loves without counting the cost, and without CALCULATING its own profit.
• Agape loves the UNLOVABLE, EXPECTING nothing in return.
